Earlier thoughts on Dawson-Tarver??

Dawson's defense is generally pretty good. It's just that he couldn't keep using movement the entire night against a guy like Johnson who puts on great pressure.He would have tired easily, so instead he stood on the inside and went to war.

My thoughts are that Dawson will school Tarver. Tarver has avoided him since his return it's no secret. Some unknown names were able to give Tarver a good fight. I imgaine Dawson will be too quick and will skate to an easy decision.

That's the thing, he doesn't need a whole lot of stamina for this if it goes the way I see it. He can just keep Dawson off of him with his jab and pick and choose his spots to attack.

Call me crazy but I think they both get put on the canvas but Tarver eeks out a close decision. I think Tarver still has enough in the tank to beat the Dawson that fought Glenn Johnson, but if he comes in prepared he may be able to school Tarver with speed and good movement.

My exact thoughts. I think Dawson will beat him to the punch all night and his jab will cause Tarver a ton of problems. Dawson by decision.

Tarver's defense is really good, which will limit Dawson's output.

I think Tarver's jab will beat Dawson to the punch a lot of the time.

Dawson's lack of experience will gave Tarver the edge in a southpaw vs. southpaw fight.

Also, Dawson's less than great chin could get blasted into unconsciousness if Tarver lands one of his left hands. It's a good one for sure.

All of these reasons are the things that lead me to believe that Tarver is going to beat Dawson.
