    Best Sports Call Ever

This is kind of a ****** thread, but I thought it was original, and I'm bored...
What do you think is the best line ever by a commentator in any sport? Like when Al Michaels said "Do you believe in miracles? Yes!", that was pretty cool. But the calls during Gatti-Ward I R9 are the best ever
Manny Steward "You dream about fights like this but very seldom do they live up to the expectation, but this is even more than you could imagine" (possibly not an exact quote"
Jim Lampley "Ward nods as if to say: come on! Come On! COME ON LET'S FIGHT!!"
Manny Steward "This should be the round of the century!"

The best call I can imagine would be:
Larry Merchant "I'm a dousche bag"

anytime merchant was clearly irritated with foreman and he would give some scathing passive aggresive reply

That's kind of funny, because the version of Foreman-Frazier that I have has Don Dunphy announcing it, and he just says "Foreman is having a very good round...*Frazier goes down*...doh!!".
Anyway that's an amazing fight, Foreman must have been born with superhuman strength because to do that to one of the toughest men on the planet is almost beyond belief. I think it kind of shows you, no matter how good you are at something, there's probably someone else who is ten times better.

I believe it was Cosell, at least that is the impersonation of Howard that everyone in the world does! It's the voice I hear in my head when I think of great lines from an announcer, but Al Michaels is no slouch when it comes to announcing an event, be it boxing, baseball, football, or the Olympics, the man is 1st class - an icon in American sports broadcasting...

This has nothing to with boxing and will probably only really be of interest to people from the Uk but when GB beat Germany in the final of the Hockey (1988 Seoul Olympics)....... Where was the German defence.... but frankly who cares! or perhaps when Sweeden knocked England out of the World Cup qualifying tournament and the sweedish comentator just went nuts screaming...... Mick Jagger, Winston Churchill, Maggie Thatcher.... we've given your boys a damn good beating!

Boxing wise there are some classics, I particually liked the coverage of when Max Shmeling beat Joe Louis and the commentator refered to the KO punch in round 8 as ..... 'a right hand from hell'
