TEDDY ATLAS would be the WORST... MANAGER... EVER...

He constantly wants kids to step up way to early.

Did you hear him during the Jacobs fight? He was already demanding that Jacobs step up.

Rojas isnt a terrible fighter, ive seen him fight before. He is exactly the level of fighter that Jacobs should probably be fighting. Rojas was untalented, but a veteran, and its important to fight these guys.

Not everyone is like Gamboa, and can cream good fighters immediately after turning pro.

I say Jacobs should remain on the same path, and he has such potential.

I really like that hey are giving a lot of TV time and plenty of room and time to develop. I like what they are doing with him very very much. I think he could be a powerful player on PPV undercards within a year and a half or so, and eventually be a big star.

lol, I was just defending jacobs in another thread, but let me defend Atlas. He wasn't demanding that he steps up - he was just saying MAYBE it's a bad idea to have him fight nothing but stiffs because it's better to be tested early. And he's right in a sense. From what I recall he didn't come off heavily criticizing the kid, just saying they should be careful.

Managing a fighter is truly an art form. There are many ways you can go. You have to be really careful to pick the right opponents and step up at the right times. Too early or too late could both be disastrous.

I think he needs to step up a little bit too, his natural ability and skills are on a different level right now, a young prospect needs to learn things in the ring, he isn't learning anything from these fights.

Just quit putting him in with guys that fall apart the first time they get hit. All that does is give Jacobs delusions about his own abilities that will betray him when he fights a live body.

the problem is that boxing looks down on a loss way to much. perfect example on this website. you have idiots claiming fighters with 3-4 losses are bums.

I have to agree with this and this is why many fighters are scared to step up.
In UFC fans pay for the Excitement of the fight not the fighters records, in Boxing they already bury a dude if he gots a loss it is a shame.
