COTTO-MARGARITO: boxing in 2008

we all know how boxing has its ups and downs...

when muhammad ali came on to the scene. boxing was going down. he brought it back up.

mike tyson brought it back up.

usually it's the heavyweights that bring it up with their exciting fights...

i see boxing's heavyweight divison making some noise in the next few years. but until then... we have the small guys making some noise...

cotto-margarito... is going to be a bloodbath for 12 rounds i would say... and all my friends that have hardly if any interest in boxing can't wait for this fight.... the hbo countdown helped. but if anything 2501's trailer promo was the best thing ever.

this fight is going to be one of the best fights ever made....

i simply cannot wait.

boxing needs these fights... enough of the mismatches...

Watching Saturday's fight will be a lot like watching college basketball. It might be competitive and fun to watch, but it's still the minor leagues.

At this point I say **** the HW's. It ain't even important no more. I'd love to have anotha Tyson-esque HW cahmp, but it ain't happenin. As long as there's great action elsewhere in the sport, that's what fans should concentrate on. And 2008 has been good so far and there's more to come.
