Williams victim of his own success.

The real deal is this. Williams is the victim of his own success in the rematch. The first fight was a clear loss for Paul and it raised some questions. Now the second fight Williams clearly won and won impressively but he is actually a victim of his own successf in the rematch, in that it left those raised questions unanswered.

As it stands now equally strong arguements can be made that the other fighter got lucky 1)Quintana was lucky PWilliams was ill prepared and inactive before fight. 2)PWilliams was lucky and just caught Quintana with a lucky punch or cold.

Both arguements have some validity to it. If Williams would've dominated Quintana for a few rounds (in the rematch)then finished him off it would've cleared things up much better for him and would have allowed fans to make a better assesment of his progression.

When a guy who ain't a big puncher gets an instant KO, it's easy to say it was just a lucky punch. But he did this to a guy who had outboxed him for 12 rds before, so the fluke talk goes out the window. I don't think anybody can call that a lucky win for Paul.
