this fights are only PPV for one reason and one reason only...

the names...

I dont think Hopkins (at this stage) can really fight anyone and it be considered a PPV fight...same goes when i heard vargas v. mayorga was on PPV...or Jones v. Trinidad...

its not PPV QUALITY...but the names bring in the casual fans...

Im glad hopkins v. calzaghe wasnt PPV...because it honestly wasnt worthy of a PPV...

i think in this day we get PPV's at least once a month and sometimes twice a month and its crazy...nowadays if theres a name its ppv whether or not the "name" warrants excitement/skill; etc. to be PPV.

how many ppv fights a year REALLY belong on ppv? maybe 3-4 fights at the most...the rest never live up to the hype.

it ppv's werent as common and only reserved for the truly spectacular fights then i believe more people would pay for them but when you have 12-20+ ppv's a year who really cares at that point?

thats when you invite friends over and everyone chips in so it only costs you $10 or less or you watch online or go to bars because not many can truly afford to pay for EVERY ppv...and when there is ppv's EVERY MONTH people would rather watch by another means that get ****d for their cash...

i stream more fights than i purchase for the following reasons:

A) its far too expensive to purchase every ppv.
B) half of the time you spend $50 and it doesnt live up to the hype
C) paying to see someone like JCC jr isnt worth it...i dont like just paying money for someone who isnt fight ppv caliber fights and is just getting ppv money based on their name
D) i dont want to pay $50 to see a 43/44 year old fighter fight.

its not worth it...really.

last ppv i remember purchasing was mosley v. cotto...i think there may have been one after that but i cant remember.

who wants to spend $500+ a year on ppv's? i dont...not when i have other means to watch them unless they are truly worth it.
