Well, recognizing one super champion in one weight division and one regualr champion in the same division at the same time is understandable to some extent. Allowing two title bouts between 4 world rated fighters consecutively and respectively, however, is totally beyond my understanding, almost ludicrous. Furthermore, each title bout has an eliminator bout factor to itself to challenge the winner of the other bout?! Then why sanction both bouts as championship bouts? Just rather make one a regular title bout and the other an eliminator instead, really. It's difficult to see any point in an interim championship fight while there is yet no actual regular champion above which there is already a super champion who isn't allowed to unify his title with a champion/champions - dang, this is nuts -withing the same sanctioning body.
yep banal is also very green and not ready to face a world champion
hes fighting some bum with 9 wins 2 losses, so he is probably gonna try to make a couple ez defenses first then fight the other champion
so there is probably gonna be 3 world champions at superflyweight for a long time, kinda like the wba cruiserweight title mess last year

ANSWER: More sanctioned fights - More money for the WBA

ElGranLuchador - This situation ain't good for boxing. Not that I'm standing up for Japanese contenders this time around, which I'm usually inclined to do, but I'm a bit apprehensive about the current situation where a kind of inexperienced and untested fighter gets a world title shot while two countrymen fight each other for the same title almost at the same time. Oh, did you check my last PM to you. I'm pretty curious to know how you feel about the upcoming Margarito - Cotto showdown.

THRILLAinmanila - You said it. Nobody can disagree with you on that. Seriously though, sanctioning bodies exist in order to preserve the authority of their world titles, not to earn money. Collecting sanctioning fees and selling belts is not of primary importance. Alas, looks like that's how business is take care of in the industry recently.

Mijares and Montiel are soon moving up obviously.. I won't be surprised if all Donaire, Montiel, and Mijares will end up fighting at 118..

There are only 2 belts.. The fight of Nashiro is still long way to go so the WBA sanctioned the number 3 ranked Banal to fight for the interim.. I mean Arce's belt at Flyweight is all interim WBC defending it more than twice.. Obviously it gives way for Banal to fight the winner of Nashiro and Kono for the WBA Belt.. Mijares has 1 year to do whatever he wish to do not facing any mandatory so it's good..

Nashiro is a Former world champion.. He will be the biggest test of Banal.

what's up amigo. Concepcion fights like Pacman fought in his early days. All-out action and offense. Banal on the otherhand fights more patiently, though with the same devastating power of Pacman. I have him ahead of Concepcion right now in terms of overall ability and skills.

My top 5 list goes something like this (based on overall skills & not merely power):

                  1.Pacman
                  2.Penalosa
                  3.Donaire
                  4.Gorres
                  5.Banal

I would still put the Fearless and Filipino Flash over Pacman skill wise.

Yup, a good argument can be made for Penalosa.
But I think Pac is better that Donaire.
