Yea...but since then Jeff has looked ****. Refer to, Jeff Lacy Vs Peter Manfredo for evidence...

I think that Calzaghe fight ruined Lacy, he may never be the same. If thats the case, no way he beats Taylor.

he WAS a good fighter but has NEVER recovered from the devastating loss to Joe and the humiliation that went with it.

Manfredo looked like ****. I was hoping Lacy would knock him out, but Manfredo kept using his "ear-muffs" defense. I thought Jeff looked okay in that fight, although he had some obvious ring rust from inactivity,

They both looked ****. But really, Jeff has not been impressive in any way at all IMO since the Calzaghe fight.

But he's had a serious injury.

Let's not pass judgement until after tomorrow night. I'm hoping he'll make a statement with a brutal KO.

Maybe. But it was meant to be sorted for the Manfredo fight

I guess we will see. TBH, even if Lacy sparked the dude out, i wouldn't get that excited by it..

Lacy is one of my favorites and I hope he will finally show us a good performance again but we will have to see, I dont know if he still can do it.

I thought he looked as good as he did in the first fight in the two beginning rounds of the Tsypko rematch before he got his injury. So its hard to say if Tsypko was really able to adjust a little or if the injury was the entire story. Against Manfredo his left arm still looked like ****, but he also showed problems he already had. He kind of freezes when his opponents throw quick flurrys and he loads up his shots a load and is wide open or allows his opponent to get out of reach.

Now he said his arm is at 98%, his muscle mass was too much lately and he wants to focus more on his boxing again instead of just going for the KO. But he already said that boxing stuff after the Calzaghe fight.

If he gets himself together again, I think he does have a solid chance against Taylor because I think JT is pretty hittable to his head although his defense was pretty solid in the Pavlik rematch. Taylors fast hands would definitely give any Lacy version hell though.

The Taylor fight will tell us a lot about Jeff Lacy. The sad thing is, even if he manages to regain some of his former self, pull it together and beat JT, it still won't change his image much. He will still be the guy who got schooled by Calzaghe and instead of getting credit for beating Taylor, Taylor will be written off as the shot fighter who lost to the bum who got owned by Calzaghe. I don't know if he will ever erase that fight from fans' memories; it doesn't help that he's looked like **** since.

Some people have been much too hard on Lacy since the Calzaghe fight.

And yes, if he defeats Taylor, they'd just say Taylor is shot.
