At the end of the day, accomplishment wise I think it'll be Mayweather. He was more consistent with his performances and had more discipline, he also didn't take steroids.

He certainly had more discipline, however Toney caught a major title in every weight class from middleweight up. He also fought the best and never avoided anyone becuase he wasn't affraid to get a loss, even when he was in his younger days on the pound for pound list. I am a Mayweather fan, but he is not fighting the best as of now the way he did when he was in his prime.

        should be toney.

fat boy beat the wba champ for his belt at heavy.

if vargas hadn't shared his stash with james they wouldn't have stripped him of it.

It's a point in Toney's favor that he fought pretty much every top guy there was to fight.

Mayweather has won a major title in every weight class he has fought in as well, although I will concede, he didn't fight the very best there was to fight, it wasn't all his fault though.

He also fought the better fighters and took more risks. Won a title at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight. Thats a hell of an accomplishment considering how small he was. He was just a very durable guy that carried his speed with him up to those divisions.

A young Mayweather fought and beat the best, but i go by what a fighter has done for his entire career and not just at the begining. There are a lot of champions that he could face at both welterweight or even junior middleweight, but he is wasting all of that talent.

umm i like and respect both but i think toney will go down as the better fighter because of his longevity and the fact he fought the best in every weight class he fought in......but its pretty close, but floyd hasnt fought the best in all the weight classes he fought at (except at super feather) but if floyd comes back and beats the winner of cotto vs marg then he may well eclipse toney legacy wise.....but two great fighters nonetheless

Floyd Mayweather. RJJ exposed his fool, what an embarrassing knock down.

It's true that Mayweather has not always fought the best there was to fight but he has also won titles in 5 different weight classes. It's a great achievement of Toney's to have won a heavyweight title but it will always be tainted by his use of steroids.

And I know too much emphasis is placed on losses today but he had no business losing to Drake Thadzi and barely winning against Dave Tiberi, he was in his prime in these fights and the majority of people thought he should have lost against Tiberi.
