  • Back with Bloodworth, Jeff Lacy Returns to the Basics

By Ryan ******** - When a fighter the caliber of Jeff Lacy faces someone like Epifanio Mendoza, it's usually brushed aside or overlooked as a mere formality - a "tuneup fight," if you will. Most fans and pundits are already looking past this fight to a potential Lacy clash with 2000 Olympic teammate Jermain Taylor sometime next year. [details]

I had the Manfredo fight a draw, I really hope that Lacy shows that he has more left than that.

Lacy should win this fight by KO but like ALT-Assassin said Calzaghe really beat the fight out of him, so you never know.

Lacy should win this handily. If he don't, people who ain't already will be ****tin on his fight wit Taylor.

If Lacy looks unimpressive in this fight, I've got a feeling DiBella/Taylor will be looking Froch's direction. Sure they want the Lacy fight, but they've got to be able to sell it to HBO.

Nice job as always, Ryan. Jeff will always be one of my favorite fighters, through good times and bad. Sounds like he's where he needs to be in getting his house back in order. Here's to hoping it translates where it counts most - in the ring.

Thanks Jake. I'm interested to see how his rejuvenated partnership with Bloodworth pays dividends in the ring.
