He only made something like 2 million against Hopkins not counting PPV royalties.

its all because of bob arum, fighters are being judge as scared or ducking a top caliber oppnent. but the promoters are the ones whos all responsible for that. they always weigh on what fight will generate profit.

Nobody wants to fight Winky anymore. Poor guy ain't fought in forever.
Has he been pricing himself out, or is he just too big a risk for anyone around his weight class...

Haven't even heard the possibility of Winky fighting anyone in recent times.

It would have been a really ****** fight for Margarito to take. Winky is two weight classes higher and all of Margarito's recent losses were to lefties. It didn't make sense on any level for Margarito to take a non title fight with Wright.

I read today in Steve Kim's column that for some reason HBO is saving a January date for him. If it's against Paul Williams I'm interested.

Winky would give Tony problems but a fight with Winky instead of Paul Williams would have made more sense except for that BS belt they were fighting for.

Simply, Margarito is a bum who will lose to any skilful fighter out there. This most likely was a tune-up fight for Winky for bigger things.
