Why is Hopkins' nickname "The Executioner"??

The guy would actually let his hands go early in his career. He changed to a more technical style in order to stay at an elite level once he got older Love him or hate him, he is an amazing boxer. It is silly to say he doesn't deserve his nickname due to how he fights right now as a 43 year old.Comment

Tito had a middleweight belt. Hopkins wanted that belt in order to unify the division and become the first person to unify the middleweight division since Hagler. That was a goal. Should he have not fought Trinidad and not accomplish his goals because some Internet clown would have criticized him for it years later? lol. Not too mention Trinidad was a 7 to 1 favorite going into the fight.I realize that Tito was good at 160 too, but his best weight was 147.
Hopkins is a big middleweight and he had a major strength advantage over the blown up welterweight/light middleweights Oscar and Tito....That's why Hopkins won, he was a real middleweight and was too strong.
Who cares if Oscar and Tito are the biggest names on his resume? Just so happens those are the two biggest names of the sport
Further, beating Trinidad opened a lot of doors for Hopkins. He worked hard his entire career and was denied the shot at a big fight for many years. Then he beat Trinidad after putting on a great performance.Last edited by ИATAS; 07-21-2008, 08:08 PM.Comment

Hopkins can barely execute a bowel movement smoothly now a days with his aged self. Pavlik is going to break his spirit and KO him late in the fight.Comment

I think something has to be said that he has been the only guy who has stopped both Oscar and Tito in a fight.Comment
