Margarito (36-5, 26 KOs), from Tijuana, Mexico, is 9-1 in world welterweight championship bouts. Cotto (32-0, 26 KOs), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, a two-division world champion, has successfully defended his welterweight title four times since winning it in December 2006.
