yeah but unlike those fighters, margarito fought guys twice his age. yes, 15 year old margarito fought guys who sometimes were atleast 30 years old. there is a difference.A lot of great mexican fighters have started their careers early. Julio Cesar Chavez did, Jose Luis Ramirez (I think it's that anyway, it's a name something like that) all started pro at a young age. But they did not suffer the losses Margarito did.
I know the losses don't count today. But the fact is, he did lose those fights. It is a shame though.Comment

Yeah, Wilfred Benitez (it's not Wilfredo for the people calling him Wilfredo) was the youngest champion ever when he won the JWW title off the great Antonio 'Kid Pembele' Cervantes. Amazing fighter at such a young age, which is probably the reason he burned out so young and had such trouble getting up for fights and training. I wish he had fought Pryor when he was at 140. He would have beaten Pryor at that stage.
Along with his great performance against Duran at 154, his first title was probably his best fight. The loss to Leonard at welter was also a very exciting performance in general by both guys. Leonard played the stationary offensive power puncher to Benitez' counter punching defensive boxer.Comment

4k cotto ov er marg.....what u say?I jump on the Cotto bandwagon then Margarito then back on Cotto. Now Officially I am rooting for Margarito. His losses were when he was young plus Williams fight was a close one. He has an Iron chin and he is a warrior and hope he KO’s Cotto. He is not a bum, which I have stated many times before. I just liked talking **** about him, but his fans are a lot better than Cotto fans. Anyone willing to put e-poits on Cotto holla, give me some good odds as he starts favorite.Comment
