You've got to be blind to believe most of it is Mexicans hating on Filipinos instead of the other way around. Most of the Filipino public is aware of this supposed Mexico vs Philippines rivalry and many are passionate about it, while the majority of non-hardcore Mexican boxing fans are either unaffected by it or arent aware of it at all. If it aint soccer, it aint going to stir up the majority of the Mexican public.

Most Manny nut huggers dont know anything about the history of boxing before Pac came on to the scene yet they talk about it like they're experts. If anything, I think Pac nut huggers sound more and more like clowns after every Pac victory.

That's exactly the attitude that I was referring to. Filipinos have every reason to be proud of Pac, he's a great champ and one of the best today. But some nuthuggers seem to act like the Philippines is the only country which has produced a great champ. The reality is the majority of boxing nations have produced at least one true all-time great and most of them have actually been better.

lol, you brought up Hall of famers so maybe YOU shouldnt bring it up, it's a pointless conversation anyway. It's also pointless to discuss the number of champions because that answer is also obvious. I never said that boxing doesnt have a long history in the Philippines, I only said that many of the nuthuggers think that boxing began with Pac and for most of them it will probably end with him. I doubt most of them will stick around once his reign is over.

I still think there are a couple of level-headed Mexican posters in this forum . Four years ago when I joined Boxingscene, Pacman was barely in the Top 10 P4P and many were bashing him for being a delusioned fighter who promised to "blaze a trail" through Mexico via Morales, Barrera, et al. They said he was dreaming.

I guess some Mexican fans just could not stand the fact the Pacman has now made it all the way to the top of the P4P list. While I agree that there are a few Pac nuthuggers in the extreme, many Pinoys here are just very proud compatriots of the Pacman, as any Mexican would be proud of their great warriors Julio Cesar Chavez, Erik Morales & Marco Antonio Barrera.
