He is literally ducking a nobody, which is pathetic. That doesn't mean Froch couldn't beat him, I think he could, but for a supposed upper echelon ex-titlist who is still young to be afraid of a guy who's beaten nobody, especially when the fight would deliver the most prestigous alphabet belt is beyond pathetic to me. I don't say things like this too often, but this is one instance when US boxing should be very ashamed.
i agree but think about it, before lacy wot had calzaghe done !!! he had beat eubank yeah but in the eyes of americans he was a bum a nobody a protected fighter fightin a bum every 2 month, in that respect frotch is a pre lacy calzaghe, i think frotch just needs one big fight and he cud be a world beater !!!!!!

If there is a Lacy/Calzaghe analogy to be made here, it's that Froch has never fought anyone with Taylor's talent and could easily be overwhelmed and frustrated with his speed and movement, unless he adjusts really quickly. Lacy was in the same boat against Calzaghe... expected to run right through him with his bruising power... and we know what happened there.

While I think it would be wise for Taylor to take a less risky fight to adjust to the weight and then fight Froch, if he turns down Froch now and gives the guy a chance to get a few more fights under his belt against decent competition, Taylor's element of surprise is lost...

Fair enough Badg. I tend to dissagree with your pics as well. Let's agree to dissagree, okay? LOL

However, the point about the first Pavlik Taylor fight was that Pavlik was at the time quite unproven (though not as much as Froch) with lots of question marks about how good he actually was or what weaknesses he had. Froch is in exactly the same position and it remains to be seen if he can answer the questions as emphatically as Pavlik did.
Better boxer? Your nuts. Lockett would have gave Froch hell. Pavlik walked right over him.

JT forget about Lacy will you? JC didnt even get credit for beating Lacy. After JC dealt with him, people said Lacy was crap. So why does JT want him. It wont be an achievement by beating used goods.

                  1. More money than fighting Froch
                  2. To settle a friendly grudge
                  3. To help him get comfortable at the 168 limit

BTW Froch would walk through Lacy no problem.
So Froch is on Joe C. level? That's what you are basically saying by stating that Froch will beat down on Lacy. I'll take the bet. Name the price if it is signed.

Nothing to be ashamed about trying to get more cash. Trust me, it's not because he is scared. Do you think he would have taken the Pavlik rematch is he was fearful? That post was one of the ones where you came a little weak with. Please step it back up. I like reading your stuff most of the time.
