Yes it matters to me because of the amount of a following he will have and hype. Ricky Hatton would get the same props if he was black. Hate to say it but absolutely true. Look at Tye Fields. Mexican fighters have very loyal fans even when they lose outright they call it a robbery. Look at Marquez vs Pacman. Black fighters that have mad skills often get called boring and to defensive. Look at Winky Wright and PBF. I don't care what COLOR OR RACE a boxer is because I love the sport. Unfortunately reality is that is much easier to root for your own people than it is against. Sadly stating the truth.

It brings energy to the table. Look at the Mexican vs PR history. If Cotto and Margarito were both Mexicans it would still be a great fight but it has more rivalry that one is Mexican and the other is puerto Rican.
