Would Cotto be a good 154 pounder?

I was watching the countdown and they said that they think 147 is Cotto's best weight. I was wondering how do you think he would do one more division up. Would it compromise his speed and power? Could he be as effective?

I think he can be effective there, maybe he'll lose a little speed but I think he will be able to carry his power up because of his frame and it of course helps that the division is wide open.

154 is garbage and he can clean that division out with 3 fights. 147 is where its at and he should stay there untill he cleans it up. He is almost there.

not really. He would loose speed or power its just the guys will be bigger and faster. Really cotto is around 157-160 but drops weight during camp. As weak as 154 is who would really stop him. His best bet is to clean up 147 and if someone emerges as a good guy at 154 fight him for the title just to be a 3 div champ.

but seriously....spinks, mora, de la hoya and forrest. Those are the top 154 guys supposely and cotto would steam roll all of them.

No need to jump up there right now. Too much $ and excitement at WW to leave. 154 ain't got much happenein right now, and Cotto could definitely gobble up the belts if he decided to make the jump. He'd lose some of his power, but I think he could still be effective there. As strong as he's been at 147 tho, I think it may be a couple years before he moves up again.
