Calzaghe fans try to hype up Calzaghe wins.

Whenever I see threads about Kessler it is always the Calzaghe fans trying to make him into something he isn't. I have even seen them start rooting for Jeff Lacy. The only thing I can think of as to why they do this is so they can say these guys are great and Joe beat them. You don't see me parading around saying Paulie, Carlos Quintena, Mosley, etc etc are great. Root for your fighter not the guys they beat. Its so sad to see Calzaghe fans sc**** the bottom of the barrel to try to pursuade themselves and others into think Cal is great.

i'm a Calzaghe fan and i like Kessler aswell because he impressed me in the fight against Joe (and the fights and went and found of his before/after the Calzaghe fight) and he seemed like an alright guy in the pre and post-fight interviews

plus sometimes you gotta defend some of them from being dismissed as bums by certain posters on here

Great, so you don't like Calzaghe, you didn't have to make a thread about it.

The best way to hype Calzaghe is to hype his opponents. That why they even claim that Kessler would beat a prime Hopkins, better yet _Ricky_ claims that Dimtri Sartison would beat a prime Hopkins. I made a thread asking Who has Kessler beat that’s better than a Prime Hopkins?? _Ricky _ answer:

So true. I noted this a while ago. Tbh, nearly every post they make is linked to Calzaghe, even indirectly.

If it's not about Joe himself, it's his past opponents, or great fighters who Joe is compared to because they could have potentially fought (RJJ, Toney, Hopkins)

Personally, I struggle to give so much credit to someone who won a few rounds against Calzaghe, and spent most of the others looking confused and one-dimensional.

I was impressed by how he battered Andrade and Mundine, but he is a bit overrated on here. He's still very good and a top win for Joe.

Saying he's better or has a better resume then Pavlik though...

Joe gets props for those wins cuz Lacy and Kessler were younger, stronger, unbeaten champs that some a lotta people thought would beat him. It gets blown outta proportion, but they were good wins.

I think Pavlik will prove the better fighter in the long run, but how on Earth can you think he has a better resume than Kessler right now? Pavlik has two credible victories over Jermain Taylor, and that's it. Taylor is the best fighter on either resume, but an overhyped one at that. Kessler has five credible victories on his list, two of them champions at the time.

I think a Pavlik vs Kessler fight would be a highly competitive one.

On Topic: Yes some fans do overhype his opponents, but which other fans don't to at least some extent? This isn't exclusive to Calzaghe fans. Far from it.

Calzaghe is great. Nobody needs to blow up kessler to make Cal great. He is great anyway.
