What last night showed with arlovski and fedor was that superior boxing skills can mess up someone who does not have superior boxing skills.

Tim sylvia was dominating guys but every boxing fan was like this guy sucks ass all you have to do is bum rush him from different angles with speed and combos cause his feet are bad.

Ben Rothwell hands are low and wide and arlovski did the same thing threw crisp combos with lots of movement.

it reminds me of Anderson silva vs chris leben, leben was knocking guys down and out striking them cause the guys he fought had no real boxing skills.

Shows MMA is evolving the hands are getting better combined that witht he already good ground game.

He will do good in Boxing But he will lose to Fedor.
Fedor has that ferocious style that tyson had and no heavyweight boxer is like that right now so AA has a lot better chance in Boxing in my opinion especially if he fights very defense roach said AA will be a slick boxer cant wait.

I don't think Arlovski will do great in boxing , even against a bum. Not because arlovski sucks ,but simply because he doesn't fight like a boxer nor is he used to fight against boxers.

If a prime Lennox Lewis would give mma a try against a bum (who happens to have a minium knowledge & technic in greco roman wrestling) than i'd still give the edge to the "bum".

Same goes for Fedor. An absolutely amazing specimen , one of the most dominant and versatile fighter i've seen but i wouldn't give him a chance under boxing rules. even against a can. Fedor dominates not because he's good with his punches...He's amazing for what he does on the ground.

and whenever you see him throwing punches (like he did against sylvia) , it's not necesarilly with the intention to KO the guy , but more of an opportunity for him to set up the takedown (where's he's comfortable)....fedor throws punches to surprise his adversary and own him on the ground.

(note that his first reflex was to submit Sylvia even though he had the opportunity to tko his ass)

Fedor is a sambo expert. Which is why he doesn't need a boxing stance or to look as good as wlad or mayweather when he's throwing his punches...For him , it's more of a trick to fool his opponent , distract him for a brief second , and instantly take him down.

In mma , you can't become a champ if you have zero knowledge in bjj , wrestling , judo. That's why all their p4p champions are very versatile.

Arlovski in boxing even against a can is a risky business. But the same can be said , if a top boxer tries to play an mma "can" 's game on the ground.

I could be wrong though. But odds are that an mma fighter would be in big trouble under different rules. and this also is true for a striker.

Here's matt skelton (you guys know him...skelton , the brit HW boxer) , under mma rules. It takes the one dimensional wrestler , only a single round to finish his ass.

and that same guy , would get murdered by skelton or even a top 200 boxer under boxing rules..Because he'd be incapable to use a proper boxing technic. In mma , he is in control because of his size & his greco roman wrestling abilities.

Erikson's kind of a bad example.

                    Mighty Mo's a better one.
