Whitaker VS Taylor @ 140 lbs.

Who would win this epic fight that never happened? Two olympic team mates, Both Gold Medalists. A Prime Taylor or a Whitaker that just finished dominating the Light weight Division?

I think that sweet peas southpaw jab would slow taylor down enough for pete to dodge the punches. After taylor missed pete would score enough to win the rounds. I also belive that all the missing would get taylor furstraded and tired, makeing it easyer for pete to dodge and once again score

Whitaker wins easily. And they never would have fought because they were stablemates and good friends.

I too think Taylor would win. Only because Whitiker would try and box and counter punch in the fight. But i havn't seen enough of Taylor to give a better opinion.

Wheres all the Taylor and Whitiker fans now? lol, there too busy hating on some other post.

You guys honestly think that sweet pea coulda beat the Meldrick Taylor that showed up for the Chavez fight???? I mean, forget their friendship and all the other stuff.... A taller, younger, as fast as pea, great conditioned taylor would put it on Sweet. Sweet Pea did not have the power that Chavez did, to be able to do the damage for a stopage. Taylor woulda just ran him down and out worked him and probably not knock him down, but win by UD. They knew each other well and knew what kinda game plan they would have, I just can't see Whitaker taking this one!! Maybe if I saw it from someone elses point of view.... I guess I just need some convincing.

Whitaker was much superior technically to Taylor. The only edge I could give Meldrick was that he had a better workrate and he may have been faster. I don't think Taylor hit hard enough to bother Whitaker though.

I already made this thread a while ago.

The difference would be the defense. Taylor was easy to hit. Whitaker was impossible to hit.

my bad, I tried looking it up but didn't see a thread with this in it.
I'll give you these points. when they stop posting.

Taylor hit hard enough to bother Chavez! And the workrate and speed..... I just don't see Pea not getting hit.
