Someone get Fulgencio Zuniga a Title FIght!

This guy was undefeated once then hit a bump in the road and lost a 12 round decision to Daniel Santos for a title belt. Then he takes on Pavlik, knocks him down then held his own and was robbed on a misunderstanding in the corner. The ring inspector screwed up and told the ref they wanted the fight stopped. Which was a mistake when the cut was from a headbutt which would go to scorecards.

Anyways then he gets no rematch but has pulled off three solid wins in a row. Jose Luis Zertuche, Antwun Echols, and undefeated Victor Oganov in which he stopped. He is now scheduled to fight Sebastian Demers in Canada, if he wins this man deserves a title shot.

If he beats Sebastian Deemers chances are he will get a title shot. I'm very impressed with his win over David Lopez, not too many people can knock him out.

He had Pavlik down! This man has power. Speaking of David Lopez, if he beats Sam Miller get him a title shot as well. That man has a nice streak going with good wins on paper.

It was a flash knockdown....Pavlik came back, beat the living **** outta Zuniga and stopped him in 9 rounds.

Yeah I have that fight here. he was competitive in the early rounds and did score a legit knockdown by hitting pavlik with a hook while he was pulling back. Pavlik ended up on the seat of his pants but was not hurt.

Zuniga hung tough till about round 6 where Pavlik started having his way with him. Zuniga was bleeding bad and taking a pounding when his corner stopped it. He was game and throwing punches right until the end of the 9th round though.

They did the right thing. Another round and more beatings and he could be a shot fighter now. Instead we have a guy who rebounded well enough that he is in contention again.

He is a tough hard puncher. A good boxer will beat him, but anyone who slugs it out with him is taking a huge risk. He and Zertuche were both tough as nails fighters. Zertuche got ruined by Pavlik though, but man in the early going of his fight with Pavlik, he was throwing some vicious shots at Pavlik and landing.

Zuniga and Zertuche get overlooked, but at the time they fought Pavlik, they were tough as nails and real contenders. Zuniga still is.

Fulgencio Zuniga is one of the most underrated boxers.

Zuniga vs. Pavlik was one of the best fights I've ever seen. When Pavlik hit the canvas in round one, it was just a flash knockdown, but Zuniga was getting the better of it by times during the rest of the fight, although Pavlik did the most damage by the end. Fulgencio gave Pavlik a tougher fight than Miranda did, and I think no middleweight or super middleweight would have an easy time with him.

Demers has no chance against him, and Pascal would have been brutally KOed.

I just checked his ranking. He is only ranked by the IBF. And thats no. 8. Demers is rated 14 by WBA, 12 by IBF and 5 by WBO.

It might take some time before he gets a mandatory shot.

No, Zuniga is underrated, but he would likely lose to elite fighters like Calzaghe and Kessler.

But because of his power, solid chin and aggressiveness, I think he would defeat all the mediocre ones like Demers, Stieglitz, Pascal and Haussler.
