tua would never beat a guy like byrd. too slick , southpaw and byrd has a good chin.

if tua was able to stay in the 220-230 range and stayed away from byrd he would've had another shot. no one likes to fight tua unless it's mandated though.
Don't lie, Tua was slimmed down and in great shape vs. Byrd. Tua's problem was that he fought the same fight he always does and got winded in the later part of the fight. He had Byrd out on his feet but was either too tired or didn't realize how hurt Byrd was.

even ibeabuchi didn't really hurt him. they just landed a ton of punches on him.

the only time i really thought tua was hurt is the lewis fight and when rahman rocked him in the 2nd fight.
Byrds main attack was to Tuas body and he hurt Tua a few times to the body.

I'm glad he picked Tua though, it gives Tua one more chance
Arreola will be a sitting duck ... it might be a one round knockout
      by Tua ...

please read my posts if you are gonna reply to them. thank you.

when did i say tua was too fat when he fought byrd?

tua was 233 against byrd the best shape he's been in a while at that time.

i said tua would never beat byrd.

        try to pay attention.

he'll try to box at first but eventually he'll square up against fat boy.

when he does we'll see how good his chin really is.

my guess? his chin is not as good as tua's nor is he as powerful as even the old fat tua.

tua by ko. which round? depends on when arreola gets lazy and stops trying to box.

I'm rooting for tua and if arreola fights like his usual self, I expect tua to win by ko. but I think arreola will respect tua's power and keep his distance and be selective with his right cross.

if tua beats arreola, I would rather see a peter-tua matchup than a wlad-tua cuz wlad is too tall and we all know how wlad is gonna fight tua(ZZZZZzzzzz). I'd pay 200$ for a peter-tua ppv.

yeah tua's gotta go for peter not wlad.
wlad will just outbox him like lewis did ...

the only way to get a title is beat arreola (tua-arreola winner is suppose to get peter) and hope vitali is not healthy enough to fight samuel.

he has no chance against wlad.

                  5'10 vs. 6'7?

jab , jab , clinch. jab , clinch. jab , right hand , clinch. wlad ud12.

plus tua losses some mustard on his hook when he has to throw up there.

look at the lennox fight. he landed a few hooks but he had to jump to land it. he gets his power from his legs.

peter will stand there in front of him. even if peter tries to box his speed is slow enough were tua can force him to fight. i doubt peter could beat even the old fat tua.

Arreola can take punches, but I don't think he has consistent chances to succeed against Tua. Tua is possibly the most underrated heavyweight fighter of the last few decades: voices had it that back in the 90's Tyson's entourage was scared of Tua, and didn't let the fight happen. But that guy went the distance with the much taller Lennox Lewis, who managed to "play it safe" by keeping him away with the jab and then counterpunch with his powerful right, if you remember.

But Tua went nonetheless the distance with Lennox Lewis. And now he might not be in his prime anymore but he's much slicker than before. He definately fixed some bad aspects of his style and character that were too wild and imprudent: he was too often in a rush and was too confident on his infamous left hook.
In 2005, he came back as a true new-born man, like only real fighters can do. He might not be as fit as in his prime but he's much more sharp and humble, and therefore cooler and meaner.

He isn't up in any historian's "top list", if not for his murderous left hook, but let me say that guy is really powerful. That guy doesn't give a ****. I'd see troubles coming for Arreola if that fight happens.
