I scoured the streets to interview people about the state of boxing and excluded people who didnt follow boxing regularly, and only interviewed those who said they paid for at least two PPV events a year. I asked each their name, and some questions, every interview ended with what do you think of Antonio Margarito.
Me: How good do you think Margarito is?
Richard Reynolds: "Nah I don't drink, used to but you talking about a man back in his single days, them days long gone".
Me: What do you think of Antonio Margarito?
James Williams: "Repeat the question".
What do you think of Antonio Margarito?
When I asked the second time this guy put one hand on his head and one hand on his stomach and started dancing I think like a salsa dance and singing.
James Williams: "Me amba ramba me oppa".
Nah he is a boxer.
James Williams: "Oh my bad, I just embarrassed myself huh, nah I mean Anthony good he just need to ya know keep doing what he doing, he gone be alright, but you know he fighting them other heavyweights and them guys hit hard ya know.
Me: Are you excited about next weekend's fight featuring Antonio Margarito?
Ricardo Jimenez: "Oh man you talking about Cotto, Cotto right?
Me: Yes, Cotto and Margarito
Ricardo Jimenez: "Right, who is he fighting?
Me: Antonio Margarito
Ricardo Jimenez: "Oh yeah? You looking at me like I should know him since Im Mexican, yeah yeah I see it in your eye yeah yeah, well what he do, I mean what has he done to fight Cotto eh ya know?
That is the end of the interview, I talked to that last guy some more and he was pretty cool we talked about stuff going on in the city too.
