Taylor wasn't very active in his second fight with Pavlik, it's what cost him the fight, I think a Abraham-Taylor fight would end in a close decision that I think Abraham would edge because of his accurate punching but Taylor could win it as well.

      Abraham via a close decision.

Would be good if it happened.

He was more cautious after the first KO loss. But overall I thought Jermaine fought a good fight in the second go around. He countered well, used the jab, and stayed off the ropes. In defeat I still say that's one of the best efforts Jermaine ever gave.

He could have pulled out a decision. I don't remember the scores but I thought it was a close fight. The only thing that went wrong was the body shot he took late in the fight. He lost a lot of steam for the final 2 rounds after that body shot which ultimately lost him the fight.

Good post. To be honest I think his problem is a combination of stamina/not letting his hands go. He looked great the first few round in the second fight, but slowed down in the latter rounds, I think all he had to do to win the fight was keep doing what he was doing early. He was outlanding pavlik with quicker hands.

I think the move away from Emmanuel Stewart was a good decision for Taylor. I've not been impressed with stewart lately, has a lot of fighters that have been expected to win but lost due to what appeared to be poor training.

And I think some people make the mistake of saying Abraham is an equal or better than pavlik because how fast he beat Miranda last time around. Well, he might be damaged goods after pavlik, you just dont know.

We haven't seen Taylor fight since so I can only go by his last fight, cautious or not, he wasn't very active.

But yes, he did a good job of staying off the ropes and used his jab well.

This fight makes no sense at all. Jermaine's was thoroughly beaten by Pavlik twice, so why would Abraham want to fight him? The only fight that makes sense is Abraham-Pavlik..

Steward and Taylor just didn't have the right chemistry in the corner so it was a good decision to change trainers because Steward didn't seem to be able to reach Taylor in the corner.

We can only judge them from their most recent fights, but I would like to see how good Taylor is post-Pavlik soon.

I can't understand Taylor's reluctance to fight a couple tuneups before getting back in with a good opponent. He could face Brian Vera and gain some much needed confidence by beating him convincingly...
