You know how many people in the US watch the superbowl? About 150 Million. How many watched De La Hoya/Mayweather? Maybe, ten million.
Why can't we put more marquee fights on free TV. This would engage more mainstream interest, open up avenues of, imagine this, and wait for it, because apparently people in boxing have little or no clue what it is... Advertising money. Mainstream interest creates coverage of the sport which provides, an wait for this novel concept, free publicity. I think Oscar De La Hoya should dedicate his life to fix the corruption in boxing and put these fat old thieves out of jobs. If he can't do it... I doubt anyone will.
