No, the reason the fight was stopped was because Rock told the Doctor he could not see. The doctor deemed the cut not severe enough to warrant stopping the fight. Rock quit.

I dunno if i agree with the tko but I can kinda see where they're coming from. The cut alone was bad enough to end the fight, Rahman said his vision was blurry and that he couldnt see.

I know man...The cut was from a clash of heads...But what can the ref do? Rahman is sitting there complaining he can't see, but the cut isn't bad enough to stop the fight...Why would he complain to the Dr. like that? It's just plain puss. The only thing I can think of is he was looking for the NC.

The cut wasn't that big but it was very deep and the fight couldn't have gone on much longer. I've never seen anything quite like this. Usually the doctor just makes medical observations and the referee determines whether the fighter is willing to go on or not. He didn't make himself enough of a part of the situation. But to me it comes down to the cut being bad and clearly caused by a butt. After only three rounds the fight should have been thrown out. I was shocked they gave it to Toney and think Rahman's allegation about Goossen being the house promoter is legitimate.

It seemed the bleeding was stopped pretty easily and there was no swelling to speak of. I certainly dont believe Rahman's assertion that his vision was still blurred as he sat in the corner.
