Here are the biggest names Kelly has beat.

Jermain Taylor (yet to fight after Pavlik loss)
Edison Miranda (lost by KO in round 4, three rounds quicker than Pavlik loss)
Bronco McKart (has never won a title and fought at Light Middleweight, has 8 losses!)
Jose Luis Zertuche (lost by KO in round 7, one round quicker than Pavlik loss in his fight after Kelly)

I am yet to see anything in his "great" resume which would convince me he would beat the P4p #1, 21 Title defences and two weight champion Joe Calzaghe. Truth is, he was lucky Taylor had 2 belts because he's not going to win another one.
um no. maybe in the womens world of boxing.

Before he fought Taylor the first time, he stated that he was willing to fly to Wales to fight Calzaghe in his back yard. You just have to respect tough fighters like that who will fight anywhere and any time.

He knocked out Jermain Taylor. A guy who beat Bernard Hopkins twice and a guy that was 43 and gave Calzaghe life and death. Hes a very good champion. Calzaghe has never beaten a prime fighter that was on the pound for pound list. Pavlik would be a very big challange to his unbeaten record.
      well said.

c'mon, pavlik is 26,calzaghe 36.pavlik has had 34 fights in 8 and half years, calzaghe has 45 fights in 15 years, pavliks' first title defence was against gary locket 30-1,calgahes' first title defence was against branko sobot 14-1 (who later was stopped by one arthur abraham in second round.that was arthurs' 9th pro fight...)

give pavlik some time,he just got his title.c'mon man,are you ****** or something?

Pavlik will have a short career than Calzaghe so it's not really that impressive at all.

His resume is ok, Taylor is obviously his best win, but he needs time to build his career. Comparing a 26 year olds career to 36 year olds is not a good comparison considering the gap they have in ring experience. Another failed thread.

I'm not suggesting his resume is poor - It's decent. But to get the hype he's been getting? It's not that great in that sense and does not match up to Calzaghe's AT ALL (which it shouldn't). You guys are setting Pavlik up for a huge fall, way to go guys.

personally i'd like to see one more fight with Jermain Taylor... despite his two wins i think there were still question marks, and i thought on both occasions Taylor looked like the better fighter, just having a worse day

Why don't you attack Kessler or Lacy's resume

What we type on this forum doesn't effect Pavlik or the way he fights, so we aren't setting him up for anything. No his resume doesn't match up to Calzaghe's because of the ring experience gap, which you ignore when people point it out. But Calzaghe's record is not great in the first place.

Because no one is suggesting their resumes is better than Calzaghe's.

Saying that, Kessler has beaten 5 World champions compared to Pavlik's 1.
