Kelly Pavlik's resume

well said.Whats with the hate on Pavlik? He only turned pro 8 years ago. He also has a better resume than Calzaghe did when Joe first won the title.
Before he fought Taylor the first time, he stated that he was willing to fly to Wales to fight Calzaghe in his back yard. You just have to respect tough fighters like that who will fight anywhere and any time.
He knocked out Jermain Taylor. A guy who beat Bernard Hopkins twice and a guy that was 43 and gave Calzaghe life and death. Hes a very good champion. Calzaghe has never beaten a prime fighter that was on the pound for pound list. Pavlik would be a very big challange to his unbeaten record.
c'mon, pavlik is 26,calzaghe 36.pavlik has had 34 fights in 8 and half years, calzaghe has 45 fights in 15 years, pavliks' first title defence was against gary locket 30-1,calgahes' first title defence was against branko sobot 14-1 (who later was stopped by one arthur abraham in second round.that was arthurs' 9th pro fight...)
give pavlik some time,he just got his title.c'mon man,are you ****** or something?Last edited by Alec900; 07-16-2008, 06:08 PM.Comment

His resume is ok, Taylor is obviously his best win, but he needs time to build his career. Comparing a 26 year olds career to 36 year olds is not a good comparison considering the gap they have in ring experience. Another failed thread.Comment

I'm not suggesting his resume is poor - It's decent. But to get the hype he's been getting? It's not that great in that sense and does not match up to Calzaghe's AT ALL (which it shouldn't). You guys are setting Pavlik up for a huge fall, way to go guys.Comment

What we type on this forum doesn't effect Pavlik or the way he fights, so we aren't setting him up for anything. No his resume doesn't match up to Calzaghe's because of the ring experience gap, which you ignore when people point it out. But Calzaghe's record is not great in the first place.Comment
