Is Margarito hated or underrated

Neither. He simply is not that good. Think about it, Since losing to Williams he beat Golden Johnson, and Kermit Cintron (Who he already beat.) To me, that does not put you into the top ten P4P.

He is hated on by some though, but that is mainly due to the "Plain and basic common sense" group that yatter about how he is great, how everyone is afraid of Margarito etc.

IMO he probably would make the low teens.

Margarito is not a P4P top ten fighter, maybe not top twenty. I am a huge fan of his but it is not even clear that he is in the best two welters, with Cotto, Williams and Mosley all possibly being better. Then you have all the other weight divisions to think about, with lightweigt alone probably containing quite a few fighters who are better P4P than Marg is.

Also, his best welter win is probably Clottey which is good, but hardly great. If he were to beat Cotto that would all change though, but still his loss to Williams would leave a huge question mark hanging over him, and at the very least we would need to see that fight again to try and get an answer.

He is overrated, who has he beaten worth of mention? He KO % is pretty poor for someone fighting in his natural weight. I would say he wouldn’t make top 15 p4p best.

Both. He don't get credit for bein a good fighter since he ain't got big names on his resume. He gets hated on by PBF and Cotto stans cuz he poses a threat to their guys. He also gets hated on by otherwise fair boxing fans who just get sick of all his ****riders talkin like he's god on earth. That **** is annoyin to me and I'm a fan of Marg.
