Great, Great Quote by Emile Griffith

From the new biography 'nine...ten...and out!'

“I keep thinking how strange it is . . . I kill a man and most people understand and forgive me. However, I love a man, and to so many people this is an unforgivable sin; this makes me an evil person. So, even though I never went to jail, I have been in prison almost all my life.”

    -Emile Griffith

I think this sums his life up. He is haunted by an evil memory which he did not inted to do and also haunted by something he was born with naturally. I think Emile deserves more respect and less attention should be paid to his sexuality.

How does the saying go, " Build a thousand buildings and you're known as a great architect, but suck just one c%ck and your known as a c*cksucker. " Sad but true. A great hypocrisy of our culture, or many cultures.

Even tthough the quote was from a forthcoming book, Griffith stated in a film about his life that he was ****sexual.
That's why there was so much bad blod when he fought Benny "Kid" Paret again. Paret supposedly was calling him names leading up to the fight. Not names like Henry, Bill or even Susie....names that insulted Griffith's sexual preferances.

When I read the quote in the first post, my thoughts were not "what a great quote", but rather, what a sad way to live your life. Now that he's winding down, I wish Emile would find peace for his soul.
