Mayweather turned pro at 19 years 7 1/2 mo.

If you count Margarito's record since that age, he is 25 (20) - 2, leading to a 80% KO % of wins or just over 74% overall.

2 losses, one to a current title holder that's jumping two weight classes to face the MW champ, one at 154 where he got his eye split open by a headbutt and was leading on one scorecard and behind by a single point on another.

I agree with that, just hate when people do the boxrec statistical analysis.
It tends to overrate people who have lots of power and get lit up (like Herbie Hide and Alejandro Berrio) and underrate really tough cats (Mayweather and Margarito both).
There is no overrating here, mate. Just straight up facts Mayweather has a Higher KO percentage than Margarito who is claimed to be the most feared man in boxing and has true power of a welterweighter, and fought against **** opposition and couldn’t back it up against P.W.

Mayweather has constantly moved up weights up and down and still has a higher KO percentage and people call boring and too defensive and a runner and plus he fought way better opposition and backed it up as P4P best.

So you expect a 15 year old kid to be knocking out grown men? Even erasing Baldomir (not that huge and not very powerful with 13 KOs in over 50 fights, mostly against argentine cab drivers,) and you still have a 50% ratio. How about his two fights with Castillo, who had already been stopped 4 times by mexican club fighters? Sorry, not buying Floyd the KO artist at 135 even.

I think Mayweather is great but he doesn't have the power Margs does at welter.
Yes, Mayweather would beat Margs and he's not featherfisted.

Just make sure to compare apples to apples. Margs hits harder.

I know Mayweather moved up and he was great at the lower weights, but my only thing was I just wished he fought a killer at welter and I didn't even care if it was Margs or someone else.

It's not a good comparison. If Floyd was comfortable at the lower weights he woulda stayed there and had a 82% ko rate.

In the end, one is retired, the other is still trying to please us fans.

Since you like to compare KO percentages of guys that have been fighting at different weights, I suppose you think Manny Pacquiao hits harder than Eddie Chambers. After all, Manny has a higher KO percentage.

Williams was the mandatory 4 Margarito's belt at the time so you got it twisted. Cotto's now taking the risk to prove a point to your daddy floyd.

He could have lost the fight when he was one point behind. You seem to making out P.W to be something that Margarito never had a chance moving to fight KP. The head butt I haven’t seen for myself. Margarito won his first 5 Pro fights so this too young thing doesn’t hold up. If he did lose his first 5 or some of them it would be harsh to judge it. He has fought very weak opposition and still has a lower KO percentage than PBF who hardcore fans call him a feather fisted.

Yet none of that proves that Margarito would be beaten by Mayweather. Even Cotto beating him wouldn't prove that. There is only one way for Floyd to prove his superiority, and that is to clean out his division. JReck is right about boxrec geeks.

How do you know the ages of the people Margo was fighting at 15?
Baldo outweighed Mayweather by more than 10 pounds on fight night...still, I believe Mayweather should have went for the kill in that fight since Baldo didn't pack a punch, and Mayweather could take one either way.
Those Mexican "club fighters" that Castillo had lost to before fighting Floyd all either won or fought for a major championship in their careers. Must be a hell of a club in Mexico.

Seriously. I never even heard someone using KO% like that before lolol. I thought you watched the fights and made your own determination. But that's what happens when you just started watching boxing this century. And in this day of laziness, they'd rather look on boxrec than go find the fight.
