Cotto is a very big welterweight and has more mass on him than Margarito. He weighs in around middleweight and most likely weighs more than that as his walking around weight. Margarito is only taller with a longer reach, while Cotto punches a lot harder, is the better boxer and is a lot faster. That will nuetralize any of Margarito's offense if he sticks to his game and avoids trading, which is a very big IF.

#1 - Margarito gives up his height constantly by putting his head low when he enters to attack the body.

#2 - Margarito gives up his reach constantly by not throwing enough straight punches, but wailing them. He doesn't fully uses his leverage, unlike, say, Tommy Hearns.

#3 - Cotto has excelled at body punching. If you are a body puncher, being smaller and with less reach actually is beneficial, because you are already "in the zone" height wise and your punches reach the destination faster.

        So, no.

You Margarito fans are funny. Trying to think of anything to discredit or try to find any glimmer of hope that you can think of so your boy wins. Margarito has beat no one and is a club fighter, simple as ****ing that. Cotto is gonna punish this boy,the better fighter which is Cotto will win and will win 9 out of 10 times. Get off Margaritos **** he hasnt proved ****. Margarito=Miranda

Agree 100%. I have said before that Cotto's power comes from being strong in a muscular sense, not so much because of leverage. That being said, Antonio is pretty strong himself and if he fully utilized his leverage, he should be able to land with more pop than Cotto.

I do believe the size is gonna give cotto problems for the first 4 rounds and then cotto its gonna find a way to get around those problems. Cotto is one of the smartest boxers out there right now. he can be hurt easily but he always manages to escape the trouble.

Just like most of Cotto's opponents, Margarito will be silenced by Cotto's decieving speed.

Cotto does everything better than Margarito, furthermore Margarito may be taller and naturally bigger, but he's not smart enough to use those physical advantages to his benefit..... hes a mexican.

At first i thought maybe Marg would match up well simply because he is tough, But that wont stop him getting broken down and out boxed.
                      UD for Cotto.
