Cotto vs. Margarito Officials, Yoel Judah Returns in Vegas

The officials for Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito have been named. According to Nevada scribe Steve Carp, Kenny Bayless will be the third name man in the ring. Veteran judges Dave Moretti, Jerry Roth and Glen Hamada have been selected to score one of the most anticipated fights of the last few years. The welterweight collide on July 26 at the MGM Grand Gardens and televised by HBO pay-per-view. [details]

Good choices. I would've prefered Smoger, but Bayless will do.

Stevie would of been the man, he's the most badass motha' ***in' ref in the biz but there is no way the Nevada commisioners would let him referee in Vegas. Bayless is a good choice though, there shouldn't be a problem.

I keep hearing many people saying that. How come? Is NSAC stricter when enforcing safety or what?

It isn't really, people just say that because of the glove rule they had going on but that's changed.
Smoger only works on the east coast which is why he wont be reffing this fight.. It's not because Las Vegas won't let him.
These cats have no clue what they are talking about.

True dat... though for what it's worth, it's rare that the referee for a major fight in Vegas isn't from or regularly works in Nevada. Not always the case with the judges, but often with the choice of referee.

I agree with most in the thread, I have no problems with the officials named for this fight. Bayless is a top notch ref.

hopefully, the ref won't even be noticed in the ring, so i could care less.................if this fight goes down as it is supposed to, the only time the ref will come into play is to give the standing 8.........hell i could do that..........

good **** though, i didn't know the judah-clottey and this fight were back-to-back saturdays................

                    Ok With Me!!

It wont matter at all,i mean the ref cant help Tony win his battle against Cotto anyways.Expect for the ref to keep a close eye on Tony's cuts and bruises by the 6th round. Cotto wins 10th rd tko!!
