How can any Dawson fan justify him fighting age 40 Johnson and age 40 Tarver?

A year and a half ago, Chad Dawson refused to fight the hard-punching Diaconu in an eliminator, and made a special deal to go directly to fight Adamek.

In June 2007, he chose to fight tomato can Jesus Ruiz before his mandatory Diaconu.

In 2007, he made another deal with the WBC to fight the 40 year old Glenn Johnson, instead of his mandatory Diaconu, who instead fought for an interim title.

Now, age 26 Dawson has decided to fight age 40 Antonio Tarver instead of his mandatory age 30 Diaconu, and so he's been stripped of his WBC title.

Becuase he is a young, up and coming fighter who needs experience and names on his resume before he moves on to the big time.

A different case that Joe altogether, who has proved to be a hypocrite when he said he would never fight Roy now.... 3 years ago.

Also, Tarver is 39, and started his career late.
He doesnt have the wear and tear guys like Hopkins and Jones do.

If they offered you a job for 120k a year (Tarver) or 60k a year (Diaconu) it's pretty much a no brainer.

I'm looking forward to seeing Tarver defeat him...

But Chad really was afraid to fight another prime opponent, and that sucks.

Roy isn't much older than Joe, and he didn't look shot against Hanshaw and Trinidad. Joe is past his best - he used to be a good puncher before he broke his hand the first time, and I noticed in the Hopkins fight his speed is starting to go now too.

He did have a fight set up with Diaconu, but didn't Diaconu get injured so Dawson had to settle for some other opponent. Anyways it makes sense for him to after Tarver instead of Diaconu. First of all he'll get more money and Tarver is probably a harder opponent.

Because its the old guys who are considered living legends or greats or seasoned or whatever... A fight is a fight if a former champ is 50 and wants to fight a 25 yr old, whose to say it wont be a good fight or the younger fighter will lose... Dawson maybe fighting easy fights in his head but Tarver is just as capable of getting a win then the young Dawson
