Kenny Bayless to ref the cotto-margarito fight

COTTO-MARGARITO OFFICIALS -- Las Vegas' Kenny Bayless has been selected to referee the July 26 WBA welterweight title fight between champion Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito at the MGM Grand Garden. Dave Moretti and Jerry Roth, both from Nevada, and Glen Hamada of Washington will be the judges.


So no Cortez!

Bayless is a good ref imo. I have never seen him officiate badly that i can think of.

Remember Bayless refeed the Vazquez vs Johnny Gonzalez fight in which Vazquez was taking a beating early on and was down a couple of times but Bayless allowed him to continue. He also allowed Gonzalez to continue dispite a few KD's of his own aswell. Gonzalez's corner were the ones that stopped the fight.

Thats the type of ref that this fight needs, someone who is slow to pull the trigger since we have seen that Cotto recovers very well and fast from being hurt and Margarito is able to take a lot of punches and Still come on stronger than his opponents in the later rounds i.e. PW's.

Bayless is the best ref in the business, Iv always said so ... Very professional and makes me laugh when he counts a guy out, He looks like Arnie in total recall when his eyes were popping out his head.

Bayless did the Vazquez-Gonzalez war and handled that one very well IMO.
