    Chavez Jr Considers Retirement

Anyway for those that didnt saw the spanish broadcast after being declared the winner chavez jr remained on his corner protected by his team from the people throwing stuff
There he was interviewed he said he was very sad, he was then asked what fight is next he just answered im very dissapointed then he was asked if he was considering retirement and he said yes
I really dont blame him, after 3 succesfull ppv where he knocked out tough opposition in sanchez celaya and the undefeated italian he was granted a showdown in his hometown on his father birthday against a tough journeyman
Now chavez jr coulda easily won this fight if he just used his reach advantage but he wanted to please the audience he was eating hard shots and kept coming forward like a true mexican warrior and whats his reward? he has to be escolted out of the arena because ppl are throwing **** at him in his own hometown
Its really a huge blow to your self esteem if u are getting booed in your hometown, i mean this is a guy that boxes 5 or 4 times a year has a more heavy schedule than other boxers and when he comes to his hometown he gets that kind of reception
Its dissapointing and the only ones to blame are the mexican fans for having such high illusions
Hopefully chavez fights at albuquerque next time where he was cheered
For my part i will continue to support him even if he takes a few loses i know hes not gonna be his father but the kid got heart and he is a warrior
    hang in there chavez jr

Answering your other post, I think it was a close fight, and to score it closely for Vanda isn't unreasonable, although, personally, right now I think I would have scored it very close for Chávez Jr.

thank god...chavez jr was the most protected, joke in the sport today. He is constantly out of shape, and the quality of his opposition is hilarious. Chavez Jr is a disgrace to the name. Hell get knocked out by any elite fighter that he faces

          It good for him.
It better for him to go on business he got the money and his father connection to lead a promotional company to promote Mexicans and even other fighters around the world.

          or just do other stuff

He has potential but continues to have lackluster performances. He doesnt use his height or reach.... He just fights like a typical mexican and it doesnt work for him.

Slight correction bro, I think he fights like an OLD SCHOOL typical Mexican. Guys like, Rafael Marquez, Barrera, Juan Manuel, Israel (more savy than people give him credit for), Humberto Soto all have much more complete skill sets than there predecessors. He should get with Nacho or some other trainer since he is still young enough to form good habits and take away his bad ones.

Him and his team should also have a serious evaluation his potential and commitment. If he can't be a legit top contender then there is no point in continuing for him since he is well off and doesn't need the poultry purses given to second tier fighters.
