funny how pinoy fans get hysterical and racial once one of their fighters gets owned by another mexican champion! the facts are these, of the 32 world champions the philippines has had, at least 2/3 of them were one and outs. meaning, they won their title (usually from another asian) and then lost it on their first title defense. this is really piss poor boxing. sure they've had a handful of decent champions and one great champion, pacquiao.
out of these 32 world champions, they only have as an entire country, 55 successful defenses! this is very poor indeed. in contrast, mexico has had a total of 108 world champions, plus 43 mexican-american champions with a grand total of 560 successful title defenses. moreover, they've got 21 HOFers whereas the philippines has but one. ONE, out of 92 million inhabitants!
and sadly, now the philippines thinks they are on par with the rest of the world and want to **** with the big boys! this is wishful thinking indeed. my advice to them is this, before you wanna become a world power, you've got to become a regional power first. in other words, quit getting owned by the thais, aussies, koreans, indonesians and japanese. this is getting embarrassing already seeing the vast majority of pinoy fighters losing to these people.
like i said, you've got one great fighter who i admire for his humbleness. it's just too bad his countrymen have to act like little mexican wannabes!
