Question: Who has more potential, and who will be the beter fighter in 3-5 years.....

Simple Question, as of right now who has more potential...Andre Berto or Chad Dawson?!??!

And a second part to this, say 3-5 years from now, who is going to be the more marque fighter who everybody wants to fight?!?!?!

And also say 10 years from now who will go down as the better fighter of the two?!?!

Personally i think Berto has the more potential as of this point because he hasnt been in with the talent that Dawson has, soo we have already seen just how good Chad is and what he's made of....I'm interested too see Berto in his next fight which will be against a very tough and veteran fighter whom ever it will be...So that being said i think that he has the spotlight on him, while Dawson knows his capabilities inside the ring, I think both men are still growing as fighters but Berto has a lot to learn....with the sky being the limit.....

Now the next 2 questions i'm a lil split on.......gimme some of your thoughts....?!?!

I wanna lean towards Berto at this point.

I think now after seeing his progression with the more refined boxing style that he's going to be something special. I mean he looks really good, and yeah I realize he's been fighting limited opposition.

The road bump against Rivera was a turning point I think. He changed his style after that fight and now he's way better.

Dawson, Berto is in a thick division and is young and will be put in with the big boys of the division sooner or later, Dawson is in a weak division that he can dominate.

its a tough one to call.........but i might have to lean towards Berto strictly because his division is much deeper and intriguing than the LHW division is. He has more potential mega fights than Chad has and with those, if he wins he becomes a star

I think one thing about this is, in 3-5 years Berto wont be a Welterweight anymore. Every fight he gets bigger and is becoming top heavy. I think he came in on his last fight night at 163 pounds. Doesnt mean he isnt going to be great just saying.

Onething is forsure Dawson has had a legit test. Berto is still a year or two away from any real threat. So im going with Dawson on this.

            1. I think Berto has slightly more potential.

            2. Right now, I'd say Dawson, Berto has a lot of potential but he hasn't been in with the kind of opposition Dawson has, Dawson showed his heart and toughness against Johnson, I think he has the ability to rule 175 in the future.

            3. Hard to say, Berto may not be a welterweight in 10 years and it would be interesting to see if his speed and power would carry up to 154 or even 160, Dawson doesn't have much trouble making 175 and says he could be making 168 so I think for longevity in a division I would go with Dawson but who will be the overall better fighter is hard to say at this point.

Dawson as of right now is the bigger star and it will stay that way as long as he continues to win (and that's a big IF). I don't think Berto has the qualities to attract mainstream fans like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, and Pavlik has done. Dawson is the type of boxer that can attract mainstream fans. But who's going to be the better fighter? Still too early to tell.
