you dont stand corrected, mercer never been stopped before wlad but he was KNOCKED DOWN you were owned boyOriginally posted by TunneyOkay, I stand corrected:
Tony Thompson - never been knocked down before being KOed by Wlad
Sultan Ibragimov - previously undefeated world titleholder
Lamon Brewster - never been knocked before Wlad I nor stopped before Wlad II
Calvin Brock - undefeated
Chris Byrd twice - never lost a decision before fighting Wlad
Samuel Peter - undefeated
Ray Mercer - was never stopped before Wlad fight
Monte Barrett - never been down or stopped before fight with Wlad, had only one close decision loss at that time
Castillo - previously undefeated
Bostice - had never been down or stopped before Wlad fight
Shufford - had never been down or stopped before
Moli - had never been stopped before fighting Wlad
Most of those were never the same after fighting Wlad.
Some were shot and not nearly as good, others like Sultan Ibragimov have retired.
also some of these guys you listed have stuffed records like shufford and bostice
castillo started his career at 170 pounds, mercer was fat and old
chris byrd is also much too small for a guy who's 6'6 240 + pounds
wlad's resume is good, but dont make it into more than it isComment

Wlad to me is great because although he doesn't have wins over truly great fighters who bring out the best of you(not yet) he has a CONSISTENT record. He has beaten good fighters and continues to do so. But I hope there will be more in his era who will truly be great opponents to beat to build up his legacy more.
What would you all say is Wlad's greatest win?Comment

You know little to nothing about boxing. I know for a fact how the whole eliminator matches are made. I studied it. They picked two good resume but crappy as **** guys and they have them fight each other. Then they send the winner (still a very weak fighter) against Klitschko. Thompson was "moving up in class" to fight the champion. That's what they care to admit. No matter how they cover the trails up (they all have good records but who have they fought? LOOK DEEPER) the fact is, when you see that oversized mutant for the lack of a better word fight, you realize you've seen better, much better, not so long ago.He has beaten whos who in the division. All the guys who have been around challenging for titles or had titles
Tony Thompson
Sultan Ibragimov
Lamon Brewster
Ray Austin
Calvin Brock
Chris Byrd twice
Samuel Peter
Jameel McCline
Ray Mercer
Monte Barrett
I listed these as the biggest names. He has even more against name guys who are a bit under the level of who i listed. Great Resume
This is indeed a disgrace for boxing and only the white supremacists (98% of Klitschko fan base), Eastern european people and Germans can't see that clearly.
I just hope David Haye gets his chance and they quit fabricating these "mandatory" challengers like described above.Comment

Now, do I sound like a hater lol? I used to criticize him worst than this. But when a man keeps winning, that's all that counts.Originally posted by TunneyI first noticed in the Sultan fight, and even more today, that Wlad is starting to decline a bit. He seems to no longer move around the ring as effortlessly as he did in the Byrd, Brock, Austin and Brewster fights in 2006 and 2007.
I liked his performance today, but he's looking a bit older, perhaps a bit shot. He's been boxing since age 14, he had hundreds of amateur fights plus kickboxing fights, and now he's had 55 pro fights. I think he'll only be boxing for another couple of years.Comment

I think that's a good thing.Originally posted by TunneySultan has sold his gym in Florida and decided to retire from boxing, according to a boxing friend of his.
Because he was a new breed of Ruiz, and it was getting out of hand.

Now I will address why I said he is a ko waiting to happen. He has never learned to fight inside because he relies on his jab so much. It doesn't mean that what I say is Gold lol. It's a criticism, and you should be big enough to take some criticism. If I were you, I'd say something like, Boof, he's been winning, and until he loses by that style you talk about, you ain't got nothing to talk aboutOriginally posted by TunneyI first noticed in the Sultan fight, and even more today, that Wlad is starting to decline a bit.
