Judah is an enigma in the sense that most boxing fans and writers don't feel like his career ever equalled the immense talent he displayed. It's the respect for his ability that landed him a shot at the p4p best even after a loss, and then after losing the Floyd he still managed a few fights later to get Cotto- another hot name in the sport- because Zab is seen as skilled, and therefore a good test for a boxer- but quite beatable due to his focus issues.

If Zab Judah loses again...well...he's not exactly a top tier fighter right now. Respected by some, yes, but not generally rated to highly. I feel like the niche role he now holds- skilled, flawed boxer- is one that will make him a viable opponent for years to come as long as he only loses to big names. Promoters will still put him in with their guys to get his name on their boxer's resume with a 'W', and yet have confidence they can win.

Despite what everyone thinks, a loss to Clottey won't end Judah's career. He is a TV friendly fighter with name value to trade on. He'll start being matched against upcoming prospects, and a couple of big wins could put him right back in a title fight. This has happened many times in boxing history.

puts him at the bottom of the top ten in the welterweight as a gatekeeper. if he can't deal with that status, he should get his butt in serious shape. put on the performance that we all know he is capable of and put on a show against Clottey, a very formidable foe who was dominating Margarito in every single round before he broke his hand...

It seems as though he just wants a big fight. He should be slowluy building himself up. To me stylistically they should have put him in there with an older slower guy. But this guy is stronger, bigger, and just fast as him. What advantages does he have over Clottey? Why not throw him in there with someone he should beat?

That's not really an option if he is broke with kids to feed.

I can't see it any other way if Zab losses again. He hasn't won a a big fight in over 3 years and has had pkenty of chances to redeem his career, including his upcoming bout against Joshua Clottey.
