Has Paul Williams fought his last fight at welterweight?

As you know according to Arum, and thats about as solid of a source you can get, he's moving all the way up to middleweight to fight Pavlik. He's actually going to fight people his own physical size now! I can't help but wonder whether this is a money issue or a weight issue. I really have no idea which. Do you think he'll stay at middleweight even in a loss? Will he come back to welterweight? Or will he perhaps compromise and come down to 154?

I think he'll be fighting more people close to his own height. Size wise he should stay at welterweight.

it looks like it - imo this is poor choice, its not as though fighters can just go up and down in weight without some sort of long term damage. just look at roy jones it taken him years before hes finally got back to what he should be at. sugar shane mosley is the only figter that i an think of who has stepped up and then come back down and still looked like he was the same fighter pre-weight move.

imo paul williams is a welterweight and should keep it that way imo he can beat both margarito and maybe even cotto, there are alot of fights for him in that division and looking further ahead maybe even a match up against wiky wright.

instead hes being advised to take on pavlik for the sake of one huge payday. lets say he goes up and gets battered - what then? there aren't alot of big names in that division except for pavlik, and he will find it hard to come back down and fight again.

          hes being poorly advised imo.
