Good even matchup - Maskeav in his 40th year is now on the same level, about #50 heavyweight, as Hawkins.

I hated the thought of old, shot Oleg being brutally KOed by Haye.

I'd like to see Moorer vs. McCall, if they're going to keep fighting.

Interesting factoid: Maskaev fought Hawkins back in 95 and KO'd him in the 4th round. Anyway, this begs the question; is Maskaev still slated to face Haye in October? I guess this might be a tuneup for that fight...

Other than a listing on boxrec and people doing actual stories on the boxrec listing, there has been no talk on either side of a Maskaev-Haye fight.

So Maskaev will not be Hayes opponent? I thought he would fight Haye? Haye should look for a fight against McCline or Barrett, or maybe the Rahman/Toney winner. Propably the best opponents he an get now.

There are plenty of young upcoming prospects in Europe. Instead, Haye will chose another 40-year old beat up fighter.
