I wouldn't be surprised if Calzaghe sparks Roy inside a round

There. I said it. And I'm serious.

It would not surprise me in the least if I saw Ree****ulus's ***** being slapped out of Roy's mouth during the first three minutes.

Why? I said at the time after Roy fought Prince Bad Ajamu that he should retire. You might remember that before Bad started hyperventilating with the occasion and Roy began to get into it that Bad was rocking Roy's head right back in the opening minutes. This is a guy without any real speed, a guy who should never have been in the ring with Jones in the first place. You might also remember that Roy wobbled from it temporarily, indicating his declining punch resistance is even worse than we thought. But I just got called a "hater" and a "bias brit" for pointing this out, and so on and so on...

Fights against Audinary Hacksaw or whatever his name is and a blown up shot Welterweight have done nothing to alleviate this belief.

Joe is a LOT faster than Bad Ajamu so will be able to connect under the same circumstances. And although his power has declined exponentially - biscuit hands vs. china chin - he hits a LOT harder than 70% of NSB seem to believe.

I would not be surprised if he stops Roy very early.

    That is all.

I think Calzaghe might hold back because of personal respect, but older members may recall a poster call Elveil. When there was a thread on what's Calzaghe's biggest weakness, his very observant answer was:

      "his vanity".

I'd be surprised if he sparked him, I wouldn't be surprised if he TKO'd him with his workrate late though.

I'd be very surprised if Calzaghe scored a knockout. Wouldn't be surprised if he won though. Calzaghe, for all of his gifts, has very little power in his hands.

I think the book on fighting Roy is the Glenn Johnson book...jump on his ass and never let up...if your firing at Roy you have nothing to worry about because he is not interested in engaging in a back and fourth fire fight. He'll cover up for 12 rounds if he has too.

I see the Roy camp calling it quits as the more likely scenario around rounds 8-10...Roy doesnt want a sustained Lacy type malling and I think he will eventually say enough is enough.

The problem is Joe is no Glenn Johnson..as a matter of fact Joe DUCKED him.

I remember when Joe was supposed to fight the WINNER of Echols/Brewer...but in true cowardly fashion..Joe fought the LOSER.

                Talk about a ***** move..
