      Even if Mayweather was there, those big fights wouldn't be made unless he was to fight the best and he was matching himself carefully before he retired. Lightweight would still be the better division IMO.

          I was just about to say the same thing. Welterweight has an edge in quality. Lightweight has the edge in depth.

            Whether the basis is quality or depth, lightweight is still the better division!

              147 is a good division but without Floyd it loses some luster. 135 is a much deeper division overall now with all the guys comming up from 130 to chase Pacquiao.

                  things are happening in LW ... jmm-casa, nate-guzman & kat-diaz and still many more crazy a$$ fights after that

                  welter minus floyd and a "cotto victory over marg" ... will amost settle everything at W...
