I remember the first time I ate at his house. We had this cornmeal with bony fish meal which, under the famished circumstances I was in, was like the best thing I had ever eaten.

I asked him what it was and he almost apologetically said "This is what I ate when I grew up, this is what I know." He has that same tone whenever he thinks back to his homeland Uganda I've noticed.
