Can Someone Explain How Joan Guzman Is Rated High And Never Fought At Lightweight?

I hate when this happens, not sure if it happend with Mayweather/Hatton if they rated Hatton high at welter seeing it had been a while since he fought there, anyone know how this happens with Guzman outside of shady poilitics? You got guys at lighweight fighting all their life and Guzman steps in and rated number one by at least one of these organizations.

He's only ranked #1 by the WBO.

Here is my guess as to what happened:

I honestly think Guzman got some kind of deal from Warren back when the Arthur fight was supposed to happen. Something like "we call off this fight, you vacate your belt and go to 135 and I'll make sure of it the WBO ranks you the #1 challenger." Think about it, Arthur becomes champion without even stepping into the ring and Guzman gets a title shot w/o even fighting at 135. Shady business!!

Same Reason why David Haye is ranked at heavyweight. He vated his belt at the lower weight division and is automatically ranked at lightweight. I don't see anything wrong with it if he was champion. I would smell somthing fishy only if he didn't have a title.

Guzman is number 3 in the WBA rankings too.

I agree with this too, if you're a champion going up 5 pounds you should be ranked high. The only reason I have my theory on what happened in the first place is Frank Warren pulled some shiesty ass **** on Guzman, everyone and their mama knew Guzman would have whooped Warrens boy Alex Arthur, but in this scenario it's way to make both camps happy and since WBO basically stands for WarrenBO it fits.

Yeah i agree, that makes a lot of sense too. Both fighters are happy. One is champion at super featherweight and the other is challenging for a title at lightweight.

What I want to know is why Chris Byrd was ranked so high at 175 when he hadn't fought there since the Clinton Administration.
