If this fight happened five years ago, Roy Jones easily. I have a huge amount of respect for Jones, his talent and what he has achieved in boxing.

However I'm going to have to go with Calzaghe on this one. Very likely to be his last fight and in the States, I think he'll prepare well for this one and come into the fight pumped.

Well first he clearly won you have to be a boxing n00b to think B-hop even came close to winning. Another thing nobody mentioned B-hop's age before the fight they only did after fight to use it as an excuse to him getting whooped. Also compubox can say wtf it wants i don't care for it, i judged it impartially and i saw Calzaghe win comfortably. The only defense all you B-hop fans ever have is "OMGZ hes 43" or "he knocked him down in the first so he must win the fight" despite there being another 11 rounds in the fight. Seriously you should really educate yourself in boxing before you go shouting your mouth off about something you don't know about.

Edit: Also what about the Kessler fight hmm?

All of you who are saying that "Roy has the style and skills to beat Joe" - no he doesn't. He might have done once, but now Roy is shot and is a low workrate, cautious boxer with little mobility and even less stamina, and he never had the greatest power at LHW either. He is nowhere even close to the fighter he was. Roy used to have the style and skills to trouble Joe, but not anymore I'm afraid.

If anyone has the style and skills to beat his opponent it is Calzaghe, who as a counterattacking southpaw with excellent stamina is pretty much the embodiment of the type of opponent that Roy Jones, even in his prime, found difficult. Every time Roy has faced an elite southpaw he struggled. Tarver is the best example, but Harding is another good one. As for Joe's workrate and stamina, look what happened when Roy fought Glen Johnson, and I'm not talking about the knockout, just the fact that Roy could not live with Johnson's pace, and this was 4 years ago!

When Roy Jones and Calzaghe fight, Roy is not going to be magically ressurected into the fighter he used to be. All the 'hunger' and 'desire' in the world, all the average opponents and time spent 'recovering' and 'building himself up' can't turn back the clock. Roy is over the hill and Calzaghe is going to beat him convincingly.

dont cry if your boy loses.

If you mean that Roy, like Hopkins is old and that Calzaghe "only fights over the hill fighters", then what about Lacy and Kessler? He fought and beat the two young ranked champs in his division to unify. Now he has moved up to LHW where the guys are older. He still fought the champ and won! Also, Calzaghe is NOT YOUNG. He is almost 37, this is normally considered borderline ancient.
Kessler is pretty good, although how good no one can say for sure. I mean, his best win was over...Anthony Mundine? Markus Beyer? Librado Andrade? Yeah...you get my point.

And Jeff Lacy? Please. I know you'll counter with, "but he was the favorite!" SO WHAT? We now know he sucks (although some of us who actually watched him before the Calzaghe fight already knew that).

The bottom line is, as a Calzaghe fan, how can you be excited about Joe fighting someone who you believe is shot in his last fight? Why, cuz he's getting a big payday? is he gonna give you some of his purse?

            Roy Jones is finished.
His recent form is 3 wins in 3 years against nobodies and a man who was never anybody above 160.
Hanshaw , Prince ajamu and a washed up Tito is not the kind of preparation that will make you win against a busy Joe Calzaghe who has been beating top rated prime fighters.
Jones hasn't faced anyone top ten since his devastating KO losses.
I can't understand what people are basing their belief that Roy will win on???

These deluded ****ers must be drinking some serious loopy juice.

If Glen Johnson can make Roy go to Sleep then Joe Calzaghe certainly will.

RJJ's only losses in his career came at the hands of extremely aggressive power punchers. Calzaghe is not going to get RJJ's respect with his slaps and he is not going to outbox him. Calzaghe's chance of winning will just be outworking Jones when he starts to fade. I really don't understand why so many people are in love with Calzaghe, he hasn't done anything remarkable in his career.

It seems the people who are in love with Kessler have the same infatuation with Calzaghe. Two guys who could combine their resumes and still not be worth half of what RJJ has accomplished in as many fights.

I hope Calzaghe does win this fight actually, so when he retires to Wales everyone forgets about him after a couple of years because of how quickly and ineffectively he blew through the world boxing spotlight.
