i mean a lot of these boxers look scrawny like they couldnt lift a weight to save their lives but they beat the living **** outta these guys who look like they are human pit bulls. Damn you cant judge a book by its cover in boxing or you could get killed on some real ****. I mean if i looked at guys like pavlik, williams, ikeke, hearns, tarver he got some weight but he has like no muscle at all yet he would kill most of these tuff looking bar brawlers with one punch if landed right.
why is it that most tall skinny boxers are insane

Skinny people like Pavlik, Williams, can bench press more then you think. When I was in highschool I was bigger then this one kid who was extremly cut looking but he was very skinny and tall like about 6 foot 1 or 2. And he could bench press the same exact weight I could and I am about 5'9-5'10. Skinny people are stronger then you think.Comment

Right.
And there are a lot of those stocky or pudgy mother ****ers that knife through big guys (Tyson, Tua). I don't think it's a sign of anything.
Except for the fact the person doing the ass whipping is built a certain way.
And weight lifting means nothing in a fistfight. You can't teach someone how to be a fighter.

physics my friend.
think about swinging a rope with a rock tied on the end of it.
it you have it on a 2 foot rope you can knock someone out, but imagine the force if it is on a 6 foot rope and you really get it going, youd probably take someones head clean off
longer arms work the same way. if someone knows how to use them properly.Comment

The taller you are the more leverage you have on your shots...
The more leverage, the more power in your shot.
Thats why tall fighters like to keep their distance and find their range to keep their opponent at the end of their punches..
As Viva would say.. "Plain and Basic common sense" duhh!!

Yeah its true, us skinny guys(well I am not skinny anymore, but I used to be a 6'1 welterweight in my amatuer days) are monsters!
Seriously though, at 6'1 175 lbs I used to shock(as well as embarrass) the much bigger guys at the gym by benching 315 lbs in the weight room as well as squatting 400+lbs, of course there is no correlation between your strength on the bench and punching power, but it goes to show that there are plenty of guys who are deceptively strong.
