Joan Guzman will beat Nate Campbell easily...

I'm not offended at all. If Guzman wins it won't be because he has a prettier looking record, it will be because he was the better fighter. A lot of people put too much stock in what Boxrec says.Comment

that's true, people overrate undefeated records way too much. But when it comes to Guzman my observation around these parts are the people that think highly of guzman do so because of his amazing skills, not because of his record.Comment

That's the truth. If you want to learn about boxing, watch fights, don't just study records. Reading Boxrec can never tell you how any two styles will clash. And no matter what anyone says, styles make fights.Comment

I have a lot of questions about a guy who keeps moving up division after division without his punch. I think his punching power left when his hands started failing him. You won't be able to outrun someone and take their title, you're going to have to fight some.
Guzman, even with his bicycle is all fighter. I have this a very even fight because Campbell can box some too.
Campbell once told me that he would retire once he wasn't able to play the matador. I think somewhere he doesn't want this to be a cat and mouse game, but thats Guzman's best chance.Comment

I don't know if he'll win an easy decision, but I do believe he will win. I think he is teh better boxer out of the two, but we will find out on fight night.Comment

Guzman is definitely the more skilled of the two but Nate is a gritty fighter...I'm not counting him out at all. Nate Campbell can probably take a punch from Guzman. Can Guzman take a punch from Nate? Nate is the bigger and more physical guy. If Guzman stays on the outside and keeps moving I can see him getting a UD. But if he gets gully, it might be a long night...Last edited by DuttyAlacrity; 07-09-2008, 05:12 PM.Comment

i have seen Guzman vs
Ruiz
Guerrero
Oliva
Sanchez
Beltran
Jandaeng
Jauregui
Barrios
Davis
Soto
I have seen Campbell (off the top of my head) vs
Peden twice, one time Campbell dropped his hands and let Peden hit him, Peden KOd him....looked like an idiot.
That African guy Kendal Holt schooled, he beat Campbell and when they announced his name Campbell ran around lke he won...looked like an idiot
Ricky Quiles, impressive performance
Lorenzo.........tsk tsk
and the Diaz fight of course, impressive performance.
O yea and the Casamayor fight
Ive probably seen more Campbell fights on ESPN and what not.
I dont need boxing rec, ive seen enought of both fighters. Im basing on what i seen and what i think. I dont think Campbell can beat Guzman. Guzman, from what i remember i need to rewatch it, played with Humberto Soto. Soto is a very good fighter. And undefeated record with a win over Soto recently and throw in guys like Jorge Barrios and Javier Jauregui its not too bad. Those guys arent exactly bums even though Guzman makes them look bad.
like i said before, i like Campbell, but I dont see him winning this one. If he does good for him but i dont see it happening.Comment

Good post..Guzman will win a clear cut UD. I really doubt Nate Campbell pulls this one off, i like him, but I dont think he will win. The last almost slick boxer i seen Campbell in with was Francisco Lorenzo. And Lorenzo beat him! I remember that fight on ESPN a few years back it was a close fight. And yes thats the same Lorenzo who just got destroyed by Humberto Soto and won by dq for some reason. Joan Guzman is 10x the fighter that Lorenzo is. Guzman is a slick boxer and a good inside fighter. Hes faster, younger. Even when Guzman is exchanging hes good at rolling with shots and slipping shots. I dont see Campbell winning. I dont think Guzman will stop him, but win clearly on points.
im taking bets if you wanna bet
I've been saying this forever..
Everyone is making Nate out to be some God..
Guzman has the skills to make Nate look ******, guaranteed..
Too much movement, too much hand speed, too much of a good defense.
I've seen him fight and this guy is special.. I don't know why hes so inactive..
I will take bets as well on Guzman to beat Campbell..Comment
