Cotto is not a 'great slick boxer'. He is an aggressive destroyer with decent boxing fundamentals and decent speed. If you are looking for an area of Cotto's game outside of his power and aggression to be impressed with I would say it is his ability to adjust his gameplan to suit his opponent. He is very good at knowing when to attack and when to back off. This does not make him slick, merely smart.

He was actually saying that a good boxer as well as a good power fighter is better than being just a slick boxer, not "Cotto is a great slick boxer." Cotto is a decent boxer for a mid range aggressive fighter. He has a good jab, good range and is reasonably fast with hands and feet. He also, as many have said, has the ability to think during a fight and change plans accordingly which is a great asset for any fighter.

Hey Burner: I kind of have the same feeling strangely enough. I actually think that, while it may not be a blow out, one guy is going to look very over matched. I don't know why and nothing previously done or in their history points to any reasonable explanation for it, but, I just have a 'feeling' about this fight. I won't say who I think may get over matched though.

On the topic of Cotto being overrated though: if his 'boxing' skills are overrated, then it goes to reason that Margarito's power is being overrated. Not that I've actually seen anyone say that Cotto is a great 'boxer' but I have seen a lot of people say that Margarito is a beast and Cotto will simply die beneath his power and be knocked out cold within a few rounds. I find that that is overrating Margarito a lot more than saying "Cotto is a good boxer." It may very well happen. Nonetheless, I think Margarito is being overrated more than Cotto here.
